Cheektowaga, NY (July 14, 2010) – A-Turf, a national synthetic turf field builder, announces the first installation of its newest synthetic turf system – A-Turf® Titan – at SUNY Morrisville State College in Morrisville, NY. One of the last schools in the New Jersey Athletic Conference to make the switch from natural to synthetic turf, Morrisville State becomes the first school in the nation to sport A-Turf Titan.

Designed with alternating rows of proven Monofilament and Premier XP fibers, this dual fiber construction offers the best of both worlds – aesthetics and performance – creating the plushest and toughest turf surface on the market. A-Turf’s dense fiber construction, combined with ideal infill volume and grade, provides the perfect balance of traction and foot release.

A-Turf Titan is designed to deliver consistent playability, ideal shock absorption and superior durability. When installed with a 50-ounce fiber weight and resilient ShockPad, the A-Turf Titan system is backed with an industry-exclusive 12-year warranty.

Morrisville’s 99,000 sq. ft. field will see its first official playing action on September 4 as the Mustangs take on Hartwick College during the football home opener. Designed as a multi-sport field, Morrisville’s new turf will also be used for soccer, lacrosse and field hockey.

While Morrisville is among the last to convert to synthetic turf, Terry Dow, Head Football Coach for Morrisville State, says it feels good being the first to play on A-Turf Titan system. “In the New Jersey Athletic Conference, everyone has synthetic turf. Over the last five or six years we have played on every type. It feels good knowing we have the best product on the market. It carries a lot of weight with the players.”

A-Turf and sister company, Surface America®, are headquartered in Cheektowaga, NY. A-Turf sets the standard in the synthetic grass industry, creating and installing athletic surfaces for colleges, universities, schools, and park districts across the nation.
