A New Reason to Score. Albright’s Tom Talarico makes school history.

Reading, PA – Freshman forward Tom Talarico scored a pair of goals to break the Albright single-season goals record and lead the Lions to a 5-1 win over Lancaster Bible College Saturday afternoon on North Hall Field. The Lions are now 8-9-1 on the season.

Senior Nick Loris opened the scoring in the game with a goal in the 17th minute. That would be the only goal of the first half, as the teams combined for just 5 shots in the half.

Sophomore Steve Moran increased the Lion lead to 2-0 12 minutes in to the second half with a goal assisted by Talarico. The score remained 2-0 until the 73rd minute, when Talarico scored his first goal of the afternoon to make the score 3-0. Six minutes later senior Matt Yoder scored to put the Lions on top by four, and Talarico made it 5-0 with his second goa, the record-breaker, with nine minutes left in the match. Lancaster’s Alex Groop scored a minute after Talarico to give the Chargers their only goal of the match.

Talarico now has 15 goals and 31 points this season, breaking the old marks of 14 goals and 30 points set by Mark Heffley in 1981.
